Job Description
The Canadian Bison Association is recruiting a full-time executive director.
Communication Skills:
- Must have exceptional written and oral communications skills to maintain relationships with the board of directors, membership, and other stakeholders including industry, government and consumers.
Preferred Education and Experience
Post-secondary education in agriculture or business with at least five years of management experience.
The Association
The Canadian Bison Association (CBA) is a dynamic organization established to represent the interests of its members. Established as a not-for-profit organization in 1982, the CBA serves as the umbrella organization for the association in each of the provinces from Quebec to British Columbia. The CBA’s vision is to be part of a growing and dynamic industry that is respected for its success. Its mission is to bring together its members and create the environment that contributes to the bison industry’s success domestically and globally. The CBA currently has 550 members and is guided by a board of up to 14 members, with 13 from Canada and one from the United States. In addition to the executive director, there are two staff members and access to contract services as required.
Primary Function
The executive director is accountable to provide a high level of leadership to achieve the Canadian Bison Association’s vision and mission. Under board direction, the executive director assists in the development and execution of the strategic plan. The executive director is responsible for the management and administration of the association.
