DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The Chief of this Division is responsible for ensuring that all regulations and policies in the Bureau serve to protect animal health in the Commonwealth and to direct activities to ensure compliance with these regulations, including through management of a dynamic and diverse staff of Veterinary Medical Field Officers and Domestic Animal Health Inspectors. In this role, you will oversee enforcement and implementation of laws and regulations, establish and direct programs for statutory licensure requirements, and collaborate with other state and federal animal health officials.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment.
Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday – Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 5 days per pay period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office.

The Regulation and Compliance Chief position is a challenging and exciting position which comes with a negotiable salary up to $146.798.00 This position is eligible for a yearly incentive payment of $5,000, increasing further after five years of continuous service. In addition, selected candidates who are board certified, may also be eligible for payments of up to $10,000 annually, increasing further after five years of service.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Three years of farm animal and/or poultry practice experience as a USDA accredited veterinarian.

Special Requirement:

Possession of a license to practice veterinary medicine in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as issued by the State Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners.

Other Requirements:

PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
You must be able to perform essential job functions.
