The City of Cupertino Parks and Recreation Department is hiring Customer Service Attendants at Blackberry Farm Park for the 2024 operating season (late April through September).
Definition:
Under limited supervision, Customer Service Attendants provide information, assistance, and
outstanding customer service to customers and the general public through creativity, problem solving, and teamwork. Their responsibilities include facilitating pool admission, operating the
Blackberry Farm café, and maintaining the cleanliness of park and café grounds. The position
emphasizes customer service, problem-solving, and a strong sense of teamwork.
Class Characteristics
Customer Service Attendant I is a seasonal part-time, temporary, non-benefited, and at-will position from late April 2024 through September 2024. It is also limited to no more than 995 hours per fiscal year. Applicants must possess all relevant certifications before the first day of employment.
Essential Duties
Management reserves the right to add, modify, change, or rescind the work assignments of different positions and to make reasonable accommodations so that qualified employees can perform the essential functions of the job.
- Sell pool wristbands and food items by operating a Point of Sale register system
- Provide outstanding customer service to Blackberry Farm guests
- Answer phones and perform various clerical duties
- Responsible for general park cleanliness, maintenance, and rule enforcement
- Prepare, cook, and serve food according to California Food Safety standards
- Clean and sanitize café area at the end of each day
- Attend bi-weekly scheduled training and staff meetings
Qualifications
Knowledge of:
- Customer services best practices
Ability to:
- Understand and follow written and oral instructions
- Must be responsible, alert, courteous, and punctual
- Manage time effectively, show initiative, and work independently
- Work and communicate effectively with peers, supervisors, and patrons in a team setting
- Available to work weekends and evenings
- Provide own transportation to and from work
- Must be able to lift a maximum of 50 pounds
Education and Experience
- Must be a minimum of 16 years old and possess the current certificates listed below
Licenses and Certificates
- Must possess ServSafe® Food Handler course certification prior to the first day of employment
- Must possess current Red Cross CPR/First Aid certification prior to the first day of employment.
