SALARY: $25 – $27/hour

ROLE SUMMARY:
The Advanced Operator II – Farm Operations at our Ft. Collins Nutri-Turf facility supports the Manager of Farm Operations. The Advanced Operator II will operate various types of farm equipment to safely and efficiently complete job duties, apply pesticides to crops, and perform all irrigation operations. Detailed job responsibilities and qualifications are listed below.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Safely and efficiently operate various types of farm equipment. Required to operate a forage harvester (chopper), swather, front-end loader, backhoe, large tractors, trucks, pickups, ATVs and all the implements associated with each piece of equipment.
  • Apply pesticides to crops and for grounds maintenance with the use of a spray coupe, UTV sprayer and hand sprayer. Able to determine correct pesticides for target pests, perform calculations for application rates, keep detailed inventory and create calculated mixes.
  • Perform all irrigation operations which includes starting/stopping pumps, water flow calculations, directing flows, walking pivots and overall system maintenance.
  • Able to perform troubleshooting on equipment and computers.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment.
  • Mow and weed whip facility grounds.
  • Clean equipment, buildings and grounds.
  • Effectively and thoroughly communicate with all team members.
  • Ensure that all Standard Operating Procedures, safety, and sanitation practices are followed.
  • Conduct monthly inspections and control checks.
  • Champion safety and the use of technology to execute daily operations more efficiently.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Obtain a minimum of a class B CDL (no restrictions) in first year of employment.
  • Obtain pesticide applicators license in first 3 months of employment.
  • Previous pesticide application experience preferred.
  • Experience with computer applications and mobile applications preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Able to work in varying temperatures and climates.
  • Able to continuously stand, bend and twist.
  • Able to lift, pull, push and turn items up to 50 pounds required.
  • Able to work overtime and weekends when necessary.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Farm experience preferred.
