Job Description
Seeking a highly motived Agricultural Research Worker, who under supervision, supports research on field plots or greenhouses, laboratories, by performing specialized tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Operate, repair, and maintain farm equipment such as tractors, plows, cultivators, etc.
- Drive tractor and/or assist in land preparation (plowing, disking), in-season management (weed, insects and disease control), and harvest of field plots,
- Plant crops using field research equipment, procedures, and implements used to conduct field experiments.
- Assist in the planting, management, irrigation, and harvest of greenhouse plants.
- Performs repairs and maintenance to greenhouses, buildings, and farm/ranch equipment.
- Perform repairs and maintenance to irrigation system of the Center.
- Other job related as required.
Required Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- One year of related experience.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- College Degree
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of agricultural field research or laboratory work.
- Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
