Description
We are a large innovative poultry and cash cropping business seeking a full-time permanent employee to assist with the day to day operations. The farm is located in the Guelph area. We are looking for an applicant who has a positive attitude and can demonstrate skills to operate general farming equipment.
DUTIES: Duties to include, but not limited to:
- Operate tractors and equipment in the daily functions of barn cleanout, cropping, haying
- Operate other farm equipment including straw chopper, skid steer, pressure washer, turkey loader etc.
- All aspects of property maintenance, buildings and lawns
- Operate grain handling and storage facility
- Repair and maintain barn and field equipment as required
- Identify and troubleshoot problems
- Barn setup and clean out
- Availability 24/7 during key periods such as harvesting
Farming requires a regular 5-7 day a week time-commitment depending on the season, with minimal evening work. The position does not have any direct reports, but leads and assists fellow employees.
The successful candidate will:
- Will have a valid G Licence
- Will have experience operating farm equipment
