Description
The North America Technology Deployment group is seeking applications for a Hybrid Crop Technology Lead. The Technology Deployment group at Corteva is part of Seed Product Development and plays a key role in developing and deploying world class breeding strategies, tools and technologies across all crops and geographies. The team largely focuses on genomic selection, breeding selection strategies, optimized breeding program models, advanced phenotyping, and native trait deployment.
The Hybrid Crop Technology Lead will work with canola, sorghum and wheat breeding teams to drive deployment of new strategies and technologies. They will report to the North America Technology Lead and lead a team of scientists in collaboration with key cross functional partners to develop, optimize, and leverage novel breeding tools and methods in their focus areas. They will also contribute individually to specific discovery projects within the crops they represent.
Responsibilities include:
- Develop strategy to deploy new methods, tools and technologies that are appropriate for each crop.
- Ensure rapid leverage of said tools/methods and optimized for each of the three crops.
- Lead team of discovery breeding scientists with a focus on innovation, validation and implementation of strategies that will improve product development.
- Communicate strategy and priorities across the organization.
- Lead cross-functional collaboration to drive genetic gain through improvements in breeding strategy and product development processes.
- Contribute scientifically to specific breeding-driven projects.
Qualifications
Education: PhD in plant breeding/plant genetics or closely related field with an emphasis in the areas of genetics and data analytics with 4+ years of industry experience is preferred
