Farm Operations Assistant is knowledgeable of, or quick to learn, a variety of farm tasks handled mostly with machinery. They are responsible for daily observation and maintenance of tractors, trucks and implements. They remove and attach various implements from tractors, till fields, spread fertilizer, load and spread compost, mechanically lay plastic mulch and operate transplanter, cultivate weeds, cut, rake and bale hay. They also sweep the shop floor, reorganize storage areas, unload trucks and generally assist the whole farm operation.
In addition, assist in livestock operations including daily chores related to pasture based poultry operations and intensive rotation of grass fed beef.
