The salary range for this position is $64,480-$74,569. “Off-scale salaries”, i.e., a salary that is higher than the published system-wide salary at the designated rank and step, are offered when necessary to meet competitive conditions, qualifications, and experience.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

We are currently seeking a Postdoctoral Scholar to lead efforts in the development of crop sensing products that integrate data from satellites, drones, and ground-based sensors to support climate-smart agricultural management. This research is a critical component in the project “Improving irrigation management in specialty crop systems: Advancing proximal sensing tools and evapotranspiration forecasting using satellite remote sensing and machine learning”, recently funded by the USDA. As a Postdoctoral Scholar, you will have a unique opportunity to work on the cutting edge of agricultural remote sensing and biophysical modeling.

The Postdoctoral Scholar will join the Crop Sensing Group, a dynamic interdisciplinary team comprised of scientists from USDA-ARS and UC Davis.

You will collaborate closely with a diverse group of researchers, including Project Investigators Kyle Knipper, Nicolas Bambach, Bill Kustas, Martha Anderson, Matthew Roby, Nicolas Bambach, and Andrew McElrone.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Ph.D. in Biometorology; Hydrology; Geography, Remote Sensing, Agriculture/Environmental Engineering or a closely related field.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Advanced coding skills (Python)
Scientific writing skills
Experience working as part of an interdisciplinary team
